Ludlow Food Centre will be held up as an example of best practice at a regional summit on rural economies.

The Commission for Rural Communi-ties (CRC) event will explore how public and private sector investment can be best channelled into rural businesses, employees and places.

The recession has interrupted investment plans and many firms are experiencing greater difficulties in accessing funds. With expectations of tighter public spending ahead, the summit will debate ways of tackling these challenges, while also assessing how rural areas are coping with the recession.

The event is at Dunchurch Park Hotel near Rugby tomorrow (Friday) and delegates will see a short film about how Ludlow Food Centre, a modern complex dedicated to local produce, is overcoming the challenges of the recession.
