A CHARITY shop will be opening in Tenbury for two weeks to raise money for the redevelopment of the town’s community hospital.
The charity shop in the old fire station in Teme Street will be run by the Tenbury Hospital League of Friends.
It will open on Saturday between 9.30am and 4.30pm and run every day except Sundays.
The League of Friends has set a target to raise £500,000 towards a major redevelopment of the hospital.
The changes will include an extension and a new layout for the wards, including improved facilities for patients.
A recent carvery staged at the Tenbur y showground raised £2,200 towards the hospital redevelopment.
“There is a big challenge and a lot of money to raise so there will be a lot going on in the coming weeks and months,” said Jean Grosvenor, chair of the Tenbury Hospital League of Friends.
Donations of items for sale at the shop should be taken to the Old Fire Station tomorrow (Friday) between 10am and 1pm.
