YEAR 7 pupils at Ludlow CE School have been bringing their reading to life.

Inspired by authors, they have created their own models of characters and scenes.

One group, after studying a play based on the classic novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, made models of the monster and the laboratory where Dr Frankenstein created him.

Another group, studying The Tempest by William Shakespeare, have made models of Miranda and Prospero’s island.

Many of the models were cakes, some papier mâché and others fashioned from the creative use of cardboard, glue and paint.

The project was a huge success, enjoyed by all.

English teacher Cher yl Hughes said: “It was fantastic to see the pupils so engaged in their reading and able to visualise and create their models in such a creative way.”

English teacher Fiona Morton said, “This was an extended homework project that really brought the text to life for us all.”
