ON Sunday, Humanists all over the world celebrated World Humanist Day.

Humanists make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values and seek to live good lives without religious or superstitious beliefs.

We believe that moral values are properly founded on human empathy and scientific understanding.

We aim to make the best of the one life we have by creating meaning and purpose for ourselves, individually and together.

The British Humanist Association campaigns for an open society and a secular state and works with others of different beliefs for the common good. It promotes the positive values of Humanism as a philosophical life stance and a means to effect positive change in the world.

The Welsh Marches Humanist group is local to this area and meets regularly to socialise and discuss matters of topical interest as well as make frequent donations to charity.

Other activities include the provision of officiants for Humanist ceremonies, such as baby namings, weddings and funerals. For further information, ring 01588 660670.
