A CHRISTMAS market is being staged to help raise some of the £70,000 needed to repair a south Shropshire Church.
Major repairs are needed at St Cuthbert’s Church in Clungunford and it is hoped that the Yuletide market will boost funds.
A sample of timber rafters from the church have been investigated and found to date back to the 14th century.
The organisers are hoping that the credit crunch will help, with more people looking for bargains and good value presents.
Anyone who would like to raise money for the church or to help on the day can call Fiona Barrett on 01588 660766 or Robin or May Bywater on 01547 540307.
The Christmas market is at St Cuthbert’s Church on Saturday, December 6, between 2.30pm and 5pm.
