TENBURY residents are being assured the current downpours will not reach the levels of last summer.

But the police are urging people to listen to weather forecasts and to be careful when driving in heavy rain.

“Some localised flooding is being experienced and there is a large amount of surface water on the roads,” said Chief Superintendent Viv Howells of West Mercia Police.

“We are continuing to monitor the situation and are liaising closely with our partner organisations.

“However, there is no cause for concern.”
