A TALENTED gymnast has succeeded her long-term goal of being selected for the West Midlands team after overcoming a host of setbacks.

Over six years ago Eden McGarvie was training ahead of a qualifier to win a place in the West Midlands team for a national gymnastics competition when she broke her leg.

After her injury she was prevented from being able to compete at a high level due to having several more surgeries over the years with guided growth surgery as her leg grew at an angle.

However, competing in the disability category McGarvie has now gained a place in the West Midlands team at a national final. Something she has been trying so hard to do all those years ago.
