POP artist Tinchy Stryder will support boy band JLS as a special guest in their outdoor summer show at the Quarry Park in Shrewsbury on Sunday, July 14.

15 years since mega UK boy band JLS first shot to number one with their debut single Beat Again, they have now announced a tour date in Shrewsbury.

Audiences can revel in the atmosphere of the picturesque 29-acre estate of Quarry Park while revisiting JLS and Tinchy Stryder’s chart-busting hits that catapulted them into the pop industry in the 2000s.

Tinchy Stryder said: “Shrewsbury I’m coming! It is gonna be special. Shrewsbury I can’t wait to see you!”

JLS consists of Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams, Marvin Humes and JB Gill.

Merrygold said: “15 years since we first hit number one and we wanted to celebrate that moment under the stars, partying with our fans, so Shrewsbury here we come!”

Humes added: “Every performance is special to us, but coming to the Quarry Park to sing and dance out in the open air – it doesn’t get better than that for us.

“So we’re gonna make this the show of a lifetime. Come down and party with us. We can’t wait.”

JLS shot to stardom after appearing on X-Factor in 2008, coming second to Alexandra Burke.

They since sold one million copies of their self-titled debut album, going on to win the British Breakthrough and British Single awards at the 2010 Brits, as well as bagging a number of other awards.
