AN ICONIC British sitcom will be coming to Tenbury soon.

The Regal Community Theatre group have announced that they will be performing their own interpretation of the long-running TV show, Dad’s Army, later in the year.

The troupe will be taking to the main stage of the Regal to recreate three episodes of the programme live for fans and locals.

There will be four performances in total, each lasting roughly two and a half hours, starting at 7.15 pm on March 14, 7.15 pm on March 15, and concluding on March 16 with a matinee at 2.15 pm and a final show at 7.15 pm.

A spokesperson for the Regal said: “The classic BBC TV comedy series of the Home Guard of Walmington-on-Sea who battle daily against the Germans and local ARP Warden Hodges comes to the main stage of the Regal complete with all the well-loved characters: Pike, Jonesey, Fraser, Godfrey, and all under the command of the redoutable Captain Mainwaring and his effacing deputy Sergeant Wilson.”
