SCHOOLS across Shropshire are proposing changes to their admissions criteria.

Shropshire Council is running a consultation on the changes, which will run until January 19.

A variety of changes are proposed, including to St Lawrence CE Primary School in Church Stretton, where it is proposed to reduce the published admissions number from 34 to 30.

Two schools, Barrow 1618 Primary School and Longden CE Primary School are proposing to remove faith-related criteria from their policy, while a number of schools are proposing to add medical criteria to their policy.

Two other schools, St John's Catholic Primary School, and Our Lady and St Oswald's Catholic Primary School in Oswestry, are proposing to give priority to all looked after children and previously looked after children, whether or not they are of the faith.
