BRITISH boyband, JLS are to play a special concert near Ludlow next year.

The noughties stars, who shot to fame on TV talent show, The X Factor, will be at The Quarry Park in Shrewsbury on Sunday, July 14.

It will be exactly 15 years since JLS claimed their first number one hit with debut single, Beat Again.

The band, consisting of Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams, Marvin Humes, and JB Gill, are currently embarking on an 18-date UK arena tour.

"15 years since we first hit No1 and we wanted to celebrate that moment under the stars, partying with our fans, so Shrewsbury here we come!" said Aston.

Marvin added: "Every live performance is special to us, but coming to The Quarry Park to sing and dance out in the open air, in front of all our supporters, it doesn't get better than that for us.

"So we're gonna make this the show of a lifetime.  Come down and party with us. We can't wait."

Other songs that JLS will perform at the 29-acre site include Everybody in Love (their second number one), She Makes Me Wanna, One Shot and Love You More.

The band, who were runners-up to Alexandra Burke in the X Factor in 2008, have sold one million copies of their self-titled debut album, while they went on to win the British Breakthrough and British Single Awards at the 2010 BRIT Awards, as well as bagging a number of MOBO awards.
