A NEW headteacher will be taking up his post at Ludlow's secondary school next year.

The Diocese of Hereford Multi-Academy Trust has announced that a new headteacher has been appointed at Ludlow Church of England School, the secondary school for Ludlow and the surrounding area.

The appointment of Mark Burton was unanimously agreed by the experienced selection panel after a very competitive process involving a number of impressive candidates.

Acedemy trust chief executive, Canon Andrew Teale, said: “We are very pleased to have appointed Mr Burton as the new headteacher at Ludlow Church of England Secondary School.

“As our school community in Ludlow would expect, we carried out detailed due diligence on all our shortlisted candidates and while we considered a number of very credible and impressive individuals for this role, he came out of the thorough, detailed selection process as the unanimous choice of everyone on our panel.
