A CARNIVAL organiser is delighted at the response she has had ahead of this year's Ludlow Fringe.
The popular Ludlow Fringe festival is proud to present this year's carnival, with a myths, legends and fairytales theme.
The carnival parade will begin at Ludlow Brewery at 4.30 pm on June 17, and wind through the streets of the town, culminating at Ludlow Castle.
The theme was specifically chosen this year to tie in with the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is taking to the stage during the Fringe Festival fortnight at Ludlow's historic castle.

Carnival organiser Anne Pitts said, “It is my first year organising this event, but I have been delighted that after last year's reinstated carnival was a success, that we have had more local organisations come forward wanting to join in this year.
"However, if anyone else wants to whip up a costume this week, we would welcome your attendance as we definitely feel the more people we have taking part, the merrier it will be!”
The carnival is also on the opening day of the fringe festival, which brings a fortnight's worth of events including theatre, comedy, music, and talks, to venues across Ludlow.

Castle Square will be a hive of activity on June 17, as there are free music events which start at 11am.
Organisers said it will be well worth spending the day in this spectacular Shropshire town and taking in all it has to offer, with its historic buildings, street cafes and independent boutiques, which all benefit from the influx of visitors to the Fringe events.
The eleventh Ludlow Fringe festival runs from June 17 to July 2 in the town, welcoming a host of acts and famous faces including Alistair McGowan, Dame Judi Dench, and Jaspar Carrott.
