Fownhope 1 Woofferton 5.
TWO league wins in three days during the last week has left Woofferton facing a draining, but potentially trophy-laden, spell ahead.
The North Herefordshire club are scheduled to play five games in 13 days. They round off their league programme with three games in five days, starting on Saturday, knowing that three wins would ensure they finish as champions of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League.
In addition they face Colwall Rangers in the final of the Journal Cup and Leominster Town in the Leominster Senior Cup Final.
Dave Chadd thumped in a Gareth Jones cross to put Woofferton ahead at Fownhope and Luke Hicks headed them further ahead three minutes later.
Aaron Bowden headed home from close-range around the half-hour mark. Gary Mowen skipped past three players and planted the ball past the home keeper to make the score 4-0 at the break.
Woofferton coasted through the second half, and Fownhope pulled a goal back when the visitors failed to clear their lines. They still created chances and managed to extend their lead two minutes from time when Ben Apperley's fierce shot was deflected past the home keeper.
Earlier in the week Woofferton produced a good performance to beat Kington Town 5-1 at Aynall Lane.
Hicks put them in front after 10 minutes, but Kington equalised on 35 minutes. Aaron Hodge and Danny Gower both struck the woodwork before Hodge eased the home side in front just before the break.
Woofferton dominated the second half and added three more goals through Hodge, Apperley and Bowden.
