12:30pm Thursday 7th February 2008

Presteigne-based construction firm, Frame Wise Ltd, has announced plans to increase turnover by 20% on the back of increased demand for environmentally friendly building techniques.

The firm, which specialises in manufacturing timber framed houses, schools, care homes and multi-storey apartment blocks, employs 55 full-time staff and a team of 30 sub-contractors.

Headed up by managing director Simon Orrells, Frame Wise reported sales of more than £8 million in 2007. This figure is expected to increase by up to 20% over the next 12 months due to continued demand for sustainable building techniques.

To help support its growth, Frame Wise has appointed accountants Baker Tilly to advise on its future IT strategy and investment plans.

Baker Tilly is also helping the board identify future information technology requirements.

John Oates, partner at Baker Tilly's IT advisory service, said: "Frame Wise continues to be in a strong position in the sector but, as it expands, so too does its IT requirements.

"The board recognises the importance of effective information technology when operating a successful business.

"We look forward to working with them in the future and in particular, ensuring their investment in new IT is aligned closely with their commercial objectives."

Simon Orrells, managing director at Frame Wise, added: "UK market share for timber frame buildings currently stands at 21% and is expected to increase rapidly on the back of growing demand for more environmentally-friendly construction methods.

"Market conditions are obviously favourable, but it's crucial that our IT systems work effectively and help us move forward at the pace we want to."
