Opera Worcester are always pleased to be able to take part in concerts and events that will help to raise fund for local charities and good causes and they are especially delighted to have been asked to sing at Worcester’s very own Last Night of the Proms to celebrate the life of the late Ian Pattison on Saturday, September 22 at Saint George’s Church in Barbourne at 7.30pm.

Ian organised these concerts annually for nearly 20 years until 2014, and they consistently attracted packed audiences.

Ian was a well-known and highly respected part of the music scene in Worcester, who, as well as being devoted to his choral music, was also a very fine trumpet player with a fine tenor voice.

For years he played in local orchestras and was the regular trumpet player in the pit orchestras for the former Great Witley Operatic Society and Worcester and Tenbury Operatic shows, eventually becoming musical director for Tenbury.

Tickets are available on the door or by calling 01905 28045.

The concert also features the Magdalene Orchestra and is in aid of the Saint George’s Church Organ Restoration Fund.
