A MAN has been taken to hospital with "serious" chest and pelvic injuries after a crash between a car and a lorry.

Two air ambulances were called and one patient was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after the crash in Offenham Road, Evesham at the junction of Laurels Road.

The man in his 30s was cut out of the car by fire crews and flown to hospital.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Offenham Road is closed from the Orchards Estate to the village of Offenham and a West Mercia Police spokesman said it was likely to be closed "for some time."

A tweet by Evesham SNT said: "Offenham Road will remain closed for the next few hours. Please find an alternative route."

A car has come off the road into a layby and a lorry is currently blocking the road.

The crash happened at around 2.30pm today.
