ON February 4, 18-year-old Nathan Priday from Leintwardine, held a local charity bingo night.

The event was planned by the Ludlow College, A Level student to mark World Cancer Day and to celebrate the start of his fundraising endeavour which will culminate in his completion of the Simplyhealth Great North Run in September of this year in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Held at Leintwardine Community Centre, over 80 people were in attendance and the event raised an outstanding £1281.

Local businesses and family/friends donated outstanding prizes and Nathan would like to take this opportunity to thank them all. These included buyagift.com, Fiddlers Elbow, Griffiths Garage Leintwardine, Wigmore High School, Autoglanz, Ludlow Food Centre, Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Bob Morris & Son, Vicki Priday, Donna Hughes, Zoe Priday, Josh Collins, Sarah Barnet and Carol Holloway.

Nathan said "Without the help of these people I wouldn’t have been able to have delivered such a successful evening."

Nathan's focus has now shifted to the run in September and despite the fact that he has already exceeded his £500 fundraising target, he is keen to keep fundraising.
