A READER caught the moment when Venus and Jupiter looked as if they were almost touching in the sky.
Andy Richardson took these photos of the Venus and Jupiter alignment from Marcle Ridge on November 13 at 6am looking towards the Cotswolds.
The two brightest planets visible from Earth are Venus and Jupiter and on November 13 rose together in the morning sky and then reached what is called a conjunction.
Conjunctions occur when two planets share the same right ascension, the east-west longitude in the sky as measured from an observer on Earth.
When conjunctions happen the planets appear close together, usually just a few degrees apart.
Mr Richardson said: "We were up on Marcle Ridge at 5.30am and the planets came into view at about 6am. We watched them for about an hour until sunrise."
