MIKE McGrath described Hereford's FA Cup win at Eastleigh as 'massive'.

The midfield enforcer scored the opening goal as the Bulls beat the National League side 2-1 in the fourth qualifying round.

"We just did what we have been doing for the last 10 or 11 games," said McGrath,

"The momentum is with us, so we just carried it on."

McGrath's goal came via a deflected free-kick in the 14th minute and he said he fancied the opportunity, despite it being a fair distance out.

"It obviously took a massive deflection, but we will take it," he said.

Garyn Preen doubled the lead two minutes before half time.

"It's not a nice time to concede and it was always going to be tough for them after that, but I think the boys held on well," added McGrath.

Preen was later withdrawn with a head injury and McGrath said it was not a nice thing to see.

"He had blood coming from his ear," explained McGrath.

"I think he got an elbow in the back of his head and he landed funny.

"Our thoughts are obviously with him."

Because of Preen's injury, 14 minutes of stoppage time was added on.

"It felt like forever," said McGrath.

"It was pretty much how they started the game by them being being direct.

"But we're used to that with the league we're in."
