Hereford Cathedral School has joined The Courtyard as its partner for the Family Saturdays programme.

Launched two years, Family Saturdays now run every weekend, starting with a free activity at 10.30am, followed by a live show, workshop or film.

Hereford Cathedral School’s year-long support of Family Saturdays will enable parents and children across Herefordshire to enjoy free workshops and fun activities run by teachers and pupils of the school, as well as free half-term activities.

This October half-term, during Herefordshire’s Family Festival, the school’s very own “Rocket Man” – physics teacher Dr Simon Rhodes – will run a magic-themed workshop at The Courtyard called The Magic of Science on Wednesday, October 25 in the Studio Theatre.

Melanie Denning, Fundraising Manager at The Courtyard, said: “It’s great to be working with Hereford Cathedral School who have agreed to support our ‘Family Saturdays’ activities. Hereford Cathedral School staff understand the importance of access to the arts for all, and from a young age, so we’re very grateful for their support.”

Chris Wright, Headmaster of Hereford Cathedral Junior School, said: “Family Saturdays are a wonderful opportunity for children and parents to be creative together at The Courtyard."

Join The Courtyard and Hereford Cathedral School on Saturdays from 10.30am - on the line-up: Dinosaur Detectives (October 7); Winnie the Pooh (U) on October 14; The Magic of Science (Wednesday, October 25); Thomas and Friends: Journey Beyond Sodor (U) on October 28 and Jack and the Bean's Talk (November 11).
