NEWCASTLE Bowling Club hosted the Annual Spar Pairs Charity Bowling Match on September 3 in aid of Hope House.

Fifteen pairs entered the competition and refreshments were provided for the players and supporters by Clun Valley Foods, Spar and Bill Meek.

The day was unbelievably wet but all bowlers played on in good spirits.

The final saw Craven Arms Bowling Club members Terry Lucas, Laurie Jones vs Bert Morris, and Tony Price with Terry and Laurie taking the trophy.

A total of £456.70 was raised at the event with a further donation of £200 from Blakemore Foundation making a grand total of £656.70 for the Hope House Charity.

The players were well supported by friends and family and Newcastle Bowling Club would like to thank all those who helped and participated on the day.
