BURWAY’S Wayne Rogers claimed his eighth Flowfit Ludlow & District Bowls League Merit crown with a 21-16 victory over team-mate Kiah Roberts.
The individual event pitted two of the county’s top stars against one another with Roberts targeting his fourth title on a fourth different green.
However, Rogers adapted well to the windy conditions early on and established a seven-point lead before holding firm in a keenly-contested match.
The duo will be on the same side as Shropshire contests the Crosfield Cup semi-final at the weekend.
