THE pressure is mounting in the final days before the ‘in bloom’ judges arrive in Ludlow.
They will be in town next Wednesday (July 19).
On the 14 occasions that Ludlow has entered the ‘in Bloom’ competition it has won 12 golds.
This year, in a bid to make it lucky 13 the Ludlow group has put edible plants are the heart of its campaign.
The judges will arrive in Ludlow after breakfast and will then tour the town. As well as judging the look of Ludlow and the quality of the blooms they will also be seeking examples of community involvement and support from business.
At the end of the tour, they will meet people from the town for lunch at the Ludlow Women’s Centre.
Vivienne Parry who leads the ‘Ludlow in Bloom’ group says that with each passing year the challenge gets bigger.
This year some unusually hot and dry weather has added to the challenge.
