AS part of its outreach education programme, the Regal is Tenbury is continuing its monthly Arts Academy Workshops.

‘Bringing the best industry professionals to the local arts scene’ is the strap line for the new monthly sessions that will be hosted by the very best arts leaders in the business.

Annie Tyson is the workshop tutor for June and presents ‘An Actor’s Toolbox…. Where do I start?’

Her teaching career began at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and the Drama Centre where she was course director of the BA Honours Acting course, and now at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art as acting tutor and director.

She sits on the interview panel for the MFA in directing at Birkbeck College, is a reader for the drama section at the publisher Bloomsbury Methuen and was part of the core team for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s project Open Stages.

The workshop is aimed at amateurs, professionals or those who wish to know how the whole ‘system’ of acting and theatre work.

Places are limited but are open to all local actors, and at £25 per session is subsidised by the theatre, as a way of giving something back to the local arts scene. Contact the theatre manager on adey@regaltenbury.co.uk to book a place.
