A SCRATCH Ludlow under-12s team finished their seven-a-side campaign with a draw and defeat to Telford & Wrekin on Saturday.

With no goalkeeper, the team produced strong displays in a 1-1 tie with the B team and a narrow 2-1 setback against the A squad. Debutant Ollie Smith’s first goal for Ludlow was cause for celebration.

The under-14 girls drew 2-2 with William Brookes and were a whisker away from an equaliser in a 1-0 defeat to champions Whitchurch when Libby Curtis’s shot was scrambled off the goal line.

Members of the Fathom team met for a club friendly which saw Ludlow South beat their North & East colleagues 3-2 on a day when 24 players turned out.

Ludlow rounds off the winter season with an open mixed seven-a-side tournament at Much Wenlock from noon on Saturday. The event is open to all new, past and present players.
