TWINS John and Will Evans ensured brotherly love came out on top in Ludlow Golf Club’s pairs multiplier competition.

The dynamic duo finished on 79, five clear of playing partners and nearest rivals Dave Fish and John Bown. Roger Painter and Andrew Macwhirter were third on 61.

Macwhirter was closer to a prize in the senior roll-up but had to make do with second behind seniors secretary Mike Miles.

A net 66 saw Miles win by three shots with Richard Rodgers, playing his first senior event since turning 55 in January, sharing the runners-up berth with Macwhirter.

John Evans and Ben Morgan won the adult-junior foursomes with a net 25 over nine holes. The next junior event will be the Adult-Junior Texas Scramble on Sunday.

David Mendham won Cleobury Mortimer’s double roll-up on countback with a score of 42.

He saw off David Booton with Lewis Hodges two points behind in third, another who nudged in front on countback after matching Ian Gough’s 40. Gary Mann (39) and Nigel Williams (38) had set the standard on the Saturday.
