LIVE film company The Paper Cinema and Sounduk present Ghost Stories, based on ghostly tales from Cornwall, Devon, Wiltshire and Shropshire.

Beguiling pen and ink drawings are magically brought to life by a pair of puppeteers and a projector to create a unique, animated film. They are joined by a talented ensemble of multi-instrumentalists (including violin, guitar, musical saw and live looping) performing the atmospheric soundtrack live on stage.

The local ghost stories were researched during visits to each of the counties in April this year. The Paper Cinema also held workshops with two schools in the area and the evening will include an opportunity to see Norbury Shorts: animation work by pupils of Norbury School, made following the workshops.

Ghost Stories is part of Soil and Concrete, a new network between Sounduk, four rural touring schemes including Arts Alive, and an urban partner, Studio 3 Arts in Barking. The project receives funding from Arts Council England.

Ghost Stories will be at Norbury Village Hall on Wednesday, October 19 from 6.15pm. To book, call 01588 or visit artsalive.co.uk
