IT was busy in Bishop's Castle as a market took advantage of people out and about to enjoy the Michaelmas Fair.

The traders at the town hall were cashing in on any additional visitors to the town.

There was a parade of vehicles that led things off in the fair including some vintage and interesting vehicles.

An American Army truck was one of the bigger vehicles in the display while a 1964 Triumph Vitesse provide a touch of the vintage.

Agriculture was represented and there was a fine example of a 1960 Dexter tractor.

The Michaelmas Fair took place over two days and also included music, street parades, ‘Nelson the elephant', a bubble man and acrobats.

Best known as a university term, Michaelmas is the Feast of Michael and All Angels, is usually celebrated at the end of September.

As it falls near the equinox, the day is associated with the beginning of autumn.
