MEMBERS of Knighton Town Council and their guests joined Trevor Johnson and his wife Betty for a meal at the Red Lion, Knighton to celebrate Trevor serving the community of Knighton for the last 44 years as a town, county and district councillor.

Trevor joined Knighton Town Council in 1973 and was a district councillor from 1983 till 1996 and then became Knighton County councillor from 1996 till 2001.

He is still a Knighton Town Councillor and at the age of 92 is still looking at ways of improving the town.

At the event Sally Vaughan Mayor of Knighton thanked Trevor for his long service to the town and Betty for supporting him over the years.

She then presented Trevor with a painting of the clock tower by local artist Beth Williams and Betty was given a bouquet of flowers. Trevor thanked everyone who came to the celebration meal saying "It was a lovely event which both myself and Betty really enjoyed".
