IT was a clean sweep of success for schools in Ludlow, Tenbury and south Shropshire as the GCSE results were the reason for lots of relief and happy faces.

Against a national trend of a slight decline in results it was improvement all the way for Ludlow School, Lacon Childe School in Cleobury Mortimer and the Tenbury High School Ormiston Academy.

In fact all three schools had their best results ever and Bishops Castle Community College also demonstrated that it is achieving sustained improvement.

There were many individual success stories such as that of Sophie Robinson at Ludlow School.

According to proud mum Janine it was at the age of just six that Sophie declared her wish to be a vet. Good GCSE results mean that Sophie can move on to college in Hereford to study Maths, Chemistry and Biology at ‘A’ level which hopefully will enable her to go to university to work towards her ambition.
