HEREFORDSHIRE Golf Club’s Morgan Radziejowski pitted his wits against some of the country’s best young players at Porters Park in Hertfordshire.

He finished a respectable 45th in the English Boys’ Under-14 Open Amateur Strokeplay Reid Trophy.

The prestigious annual event is open to 144 boys under the age of 14 years with a playing handicap not above 7.4.

Radziejowski did not play his best golf but made the 36-hole cut and had he been sharper with his putting could have pushed for a spot inside the top 15.

His proud dad Steve Radziejowski said: “It was a great experience for Morgan and one that he very much enjoyed.

“It was like a mini pro tour event with cameras, scoreboards and sponsorship.

“Hopefully, there will be many tournaments like this for Morgan in the future.”

Earlier this summer, the teenager belied his years to win the Harding Trophy in an adult competition at Herefordshire GC.

Radziejowski also finished finished second in the Page Cup.
