THERE were relieved and happy faces as Ludlow College celebrated a bumper year for success with its ‘A’ level students.

The College had a 100 per cent pass rate and also saw an increase in the proportion of students gaining higher grades.

Staff have described the results as exceptional against a national trend that saw a slight fall off in higher grades.

Students at Ludlow Colleges bucked the national picture both in terms of overall success and grade ‘A’ passes.

Every student achieved a pass regardless of the subject and there was a three per cent increase in top grades compared with 2015.

Head of the Ludlow Centre, Carl Morris was delighted.

He said that the College's focus is on both achieving outstanding results at the top end and also delivering high value-added attainment - referring to the progress made by students from GCSE to A Level.

Ludlow College prides itself on offering opportunity and has a comprehensive set of systems in place which are designed to guide and support students.

“Our students are celebrating outstanding success in their A Level results, with this year’s 100 per cenr pass rate marking an exceptional year of excellent academic and personal achievements,” he said.

“I am sure that the students would also wish me to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of the teaching staff who work tirelessly to help them achieve the best results they can.

“Students are leaving as well-rounded individuals possessing not just academic flair but intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn.”
