A CROSS border operation was mounted by fire services to deal with a blaze in a derelict building in Tenbury.
The fire on the site of the former Auction Yard in Tenbury was attended by an appliance from Tenbury and support was called in from over the Shropshire border in Ludlow.
It happened on Thursday evening (March 31) when the alarm was raised.
Fire fighters also used a high altitude aerial platform ladder and breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
The former Cattle Market site in Teme Street has been earmarked for a new Tesco supermarket since 2010 but the project has been subject to a catalogue of delays.
There is still no date set for work to begin on the scheme that it is claimed will create 150 full and part time jobs in Tenbury.
In the past there have been incidents of small fires on the site believed to have been caused by children but the cause of the latest incident is not known.
