THERE will be a dispersal sale of farm machinery and equipment following the death of a South Shropshire farmer.

The late Frank Jones farmed at Lower Down Farm, Lydbury North, near Bishops Castle for more than 60 years.

“Frank and Mary Jones had adopted a traditional mixed farming policy and there is a useful range of arable and grassland farm equipment as well as livestock handling and feeding equipment on offer,” said Peter Willcock, chairman of Hall’s, who is conducting the auction.

Tractors set to go under the hammer include a 2010 Massey Ferguson 5445 with fore end loader and pallet tine, a 2007 Massey Ferguson 5470, a 1994 Massey Ferguson 390T and a 1977 Ford 4600.

There is also a 1993 Deutz Fahr M35.80 combine harvester, a 2010 S.W.B. Land Rover, a selection of six trailers and a range of cultivation and harvesting equipment, tools, agricultural spares, livestock sundries, general farm supplies and fodder.

The 260-lot auction at the farm will be held on Friday, March 4, starting at 10.30am.
