LIBRARIES have been part of life for as long as anyone can remember.

Set up to provide access to books for people who could not afford to read, the library has become much more than that.

While access to computers and a huge variety of services are now part of the library experience, books still remain at the core.

Tenbury Library celebrated National Libraries Day with activities with the young in mind.

As well as providing a book lending service, the library in Teme Street also has an art gallery and runs a monthly club for young readers.

It is home to the Worcestershire Hub information centre and the Citizens Advice Bureau who hold a session at the library every Thursday.

Adult education sessions in topics ranging from the use of computers to learning a foreign language are also held at the building on a regular basis.
