LUDLOW’S slow food group is preparing for a big fry up on Sunday (January 24).

This year Slow Food’s favourite fun food event is being organised jointly with the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms, to coincide with the beginning of British Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

The Discovery Centre endeavours to deliver the Grow Cook Learn vision to connect people to the food, history and landscape of the Shropshire Hills.

“Ludlow and the Marches is blessed with fantastic quality meat that is still reared traditionally on relatively small scale and it’s all available locally from our excellent butchers, farm shops and farmers’ markets,” said Sue Chandler, chair of the Slow Food Group.

“There will be the Onny Fritter, created by the catering team at the Discovery Centre especially for the event. This is a popular event that is booked up in just a couple of days as soon as the tickets become available.”

Catherine Collier, marketing and development manager at the Discovery Centre said there was a natural fit between the Slow Food Movement and the Grow Cook and Learn vision.

Tickets for the breakfast are available on a first come first served basis for 100 people, tickets still available from the Discovery Centre, to book call 01588 676060. Tickets are priced at £7 per adult, £4 per child (up to 12yrs old) choose from two sittings: 9.30am or 10.30am
