LUDLOW Food Centre has a new boss.

Jon Edwards is the new Managing Director replacing Edward Berry, who has been managing director for the past four years.

He has spent the past 10 years leading the Rhug Estate’s award-winning retail operation in Corwen, Denbighshire.

During his decade-long tenure, Jon Edwards has overseen the site’s ongoing expansion into one of the UK’s premier farm shops.

As well as showcasing organic meat reared on Lord Newborough’s Estate, he has also been responsible for championing local produce, with the Rhug stocking a comprehensive range of locally sourced products which accounted for 70% of the sales at Rhug.

Before to his time in Wales, Jon Edwards spent 10 years in retail management with Marks & Spencer in the North West of England.

"As a family and board, we are delighted to have appointed a new Managing Director. Jon joins the Food Centre at a very exciting time. We want to build on our achievements and to continue evolving,” said David Windsor-Clive, chairman of Ludlow Food Centre.

“To capitalise on our recent progress we have ambitious plans that Jon will be pivotal in delivering when he joins. His understanding and experience of the retail sector makes him ideal for implementing our plans and will bring a fresh perspective to the business.”

Ludlow Food Centre at Bromfield also includes a café and a shop in Ludlow Town Centre.
