A 19 year old apprentice care worker in Ludlow is celebrating after being shortlisted as one of the top three apprentices in the Social Care sector at the 2015 National Care Awards.
Rosie Hawkins, an apprentice at Hendra House in Ludlow, has already been assessed by two judging panels and will be attending the awards at a gala event hosted by TV personality Hugh Dennis at the Hilton Hotel in London.
“I did consider university, but the opportunities to complete an apprenticeship at an “outstanding” rated home like Hendra House was too good an opportunity to turn down,” she said.
Vince Burmingham, owner of Hendra House, said that the business has a history of providing excellent training.
“Rosie is the latest in a long line of Hendra Apprentices to have received both regional and national recognition,” said Vince Burmingham.
“She has shown maturity beyond her years and if selected would be a worthy winner, she is an asset to the home and has the total respect of residents and colleagues alike."
