LUDLOW Castle, one of South Shropshire's great landmarks, appears through the mist on a typical 'hop-picking' morning in September.
Our photographer Andy Compton captured this atmospheric shot of the castle, which was built between 1066 and 1085.
After falling into disrepair through the Middle Ages, the grounds have been subsequently been extensively landscaped and the castle repaired. It is now owned by the Powis Estate.
