PUPILS at Ludlow Junior School got busy baking cakes for the world’s biggest coffee morning event organised by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Two pupils from year five had already given the total money raised a boost by giving up their lunch breaks before the summer holidays.
The sale of squash to fellow pupils by Katie Lewis and Lydia Brisbane brought in £19.10 and the girls were hard at work again as parents rolled up to the school hall to enjoy a drink and sample a variety of cakes and biscuits.
It is the second Macmillan fundraiser organised by Ludlow Juniors with the final amount raised likely to be well into three figures.
This latest charitable enterprise follows a coffee afternoon and chocolate draw which raised more than £400 towards a community defibrillator to help victims of heart attacks and cardiac arrest.
