AFTER three years of perfect weather a ‘mini tornado’ struck just half an hour before the start of the annual fete at St Michael’s Village Hall near Tenbury.

The stalls were all set up in the garden of the home of Jane and Jonathan Rickett at Sunnycroft when the skies turned black and winds and torrential rain struck.

Everyone ran for cover and many stalwarts were soaked to the skin before the sun came back out again.

The familiar stalls were there selling cakes, bric-a-brac, books and plants together with teas, strawberries and cream, scones and cake.

Interspersed with the stalls were a variety of games including the usual coconut shy, skittles, tombola and a raffle.

Also on display were vintage vehicles including a lorry, motorbikes and cars with three made by Rolls-Royce.

The funds will help pay for further improvements to the hall that has been undergoing a major refurbishments.
