JOSH Brown was in for a surprise when he went for a good day out at Bilfield Farm in Hatfield.

The 13-year-old, who lives in Birmingham, thought he was just going to have an enjoyable time at the venue near Tenbury taking part in the Airsoft Experience as part of a birthday treat.

But then the police arrived and the young man began to wonder what was going on.

However, he was not in any kind of trouble and had a brief break from his entertainment while he was presented with a Good Citizen commendation by West Mercia Police.

His good deed was finding a £250 mobile telephone that had been left on a train seat and handing it in for the owner to collect at a station ticket office.

In gratitude the phone's owner Michelle Hickinbottom, also from Birmingham, had offered a reward but Josh turned this down simply asking her to do something nice for someone else in turn.

But it was Josh who was at the end of someone else's gratitude at the weekend and it was decided the venue, which operates a game similar to Paintball, would make the perfect location for the presentation.

The Airsoft Experience is like Paintball but guns shoot soft pellets instead of paint.
