LUDLOW College has held an open event to welcome potential students and their parents from across Shropshire.

The day provided an opportunity for students to experience a glimpse of college life and gain an insight into subjects of their choice.

Many students are still deciding their choices for further education and staff were on hand to offer advice and assist with filling out applications.

Carl Morris, head of Ludlow College, said: "We had a great turn out at this weekend's event and it was great to see so many keen potential students and their families.

"To make the most of the fantastic spring weather we took students on a tour of the college so they could see the wonderful facilities.

"It isn't too late for students to still apply and also to get in touch if they have any questions or queries about the application process.

"I think one of the biggest assets to the college is its experienced and academic staff. It is really important that students can meet the tutors and get a good idea of what it is like to be part of this close-knit community.

"Any students that still want to find out more can still get in touch."

For those planning to study at university after their time at college this is the last week for them to apply for The Foundation of Ludlow College Scholarship.

Five are available and each successful student will receive up to £2,000 per annum when they go on to university.

This will go towards their post-A Level educational costs during the period of their undergraduate studies, for up to a maximum of four years.

The deadline is March 31 so there is still time for students to apply.
