CHILDREN in Tenbury have had a great time at a play group with the visit of some special guests from the animal kingdom.

Trevor Hill Birds and Animals visited the Jolly Rogers group, which aims to provide young children with stimulation and companionship.

On view were baby meerkats, snakes and lizards.

The ‘Jolly Rogers’ group is a community based initiative, based at the Scout Hut, adjacent to the swimming pool and leisure centre.

It meets every Monday and Tuesday between 10am and noon and is open to children aged up to five years.

But there are also occasional Saturday sessions and one of these took place this weekend when there was an action packed two hours of play at the cost of £3 per child.

The play group is just one of the regular events that take place at the scout hut that is preparing for a major refurbishment of the kitchen area.
