A “stranger offering sweets” has tried to tempt a young boy to a car near a primary school.
The driver made off when the boy ran to a relative.
Detectives are scanning CCTV footage from in and around Leominster for sightings of the small dark blue car the young witness said was “like a Mini”.
This vehicle stopped by the boy near Ivington primary school at around 4pm yesterday (Thurs).
The male driver, described as having distinctive long hair, offered the boy sweets.
Detective Sergeant Tim Powell, of Herefordshire CID, said the driver made no other attempt to entice the boy who “did the right thing” by not engaging but immediately alerting a relative.
"We have already begun to view CCTV in the area. I am aware there were other parents around at the time who may have witnessed the incident without realising,” said DS Powell.
A local beat officer made a “reassurance” visit to the school today (Fri).
Information to Hereford Police on 101 quoting incident 459S 190315.
