A 91-year-old former PE teacher from Tenbury has been sent to jail for nine years.

The sentence from Birmingham Crown Court came two days after he was found guilty of 25 counts of indecent assault to 12 victims.

Marcus Marcussen, of Rochford near Tenbury, who was convicted by a jury at Birmingham Crown Court, denied the charges committed while he was employed at Illmington Road Comprehensive School in Weoley Castle, Birmingham.

The court also found him guilty of assaulting two other boys.

He was found not guilty of eight other sexual offences.

It is believed that Mr Marcussen is the oldest person in this country to be jailed for a first offence.
