A LEADING figure in the prison reform movement is coming to speak in Ludlow.

Andrew Neilson, campaigns director of The Howard League for Penal Reform, visits the Ludlow and Marches Humanist Group to talk about the history of the penal reform movement.

He will make his comments in the light of the current challenges such as prison overcrowding and the increasing number of people in prison.

He is also expected to comment on the impact of government austerity and the likelihood of further cuts to the Ministry of Justice after the election.

The meeting is on Tuesday February 17 at 7.30 pm at The Friends Meeting House, St Mary's Lane.
