MUSICIANS from Tenbury Teme Valley Band have been helping a charity that builds beautiful gardens for sick children.

The band performed at Burford House Garden Store on three consecutive Sundays during December to entertain customers and also to help raise funds for Greenfingers Charity.

Greenfingers is a small national charity dedicated to supporting the children who use hospices around the UK, along with their families, by creating inspiring gardens for them to relax in and enjoy.

Tenbury Teme Valley Band and Burford House Garden Store have raised £216.77 for the cause.

“Teme Valley Band wholeheartedly contributed in creating a jolly and festive atmosphere alongside our reindeer and free Santa’s Grotto in aid of Greenfingers and St. Michael’s Hospice,” said Paul Benson, manager of Burford House Garden.

"Musicians from Teme Valley Band raised considerable sums of money in 2014 for various charities including the Kyre Group of Riding for the Disabled, the Brain Tumour Charity and St Mary’s Church Tenbury.”

This year promises to be another successful and busy one for the band.

Events planned so far include a concert at St Mary’s Church Tenbury, Shobdon Food and Flying Festival and many local fetes and shows.

After its 2014 performance at the Regal Theatre the band will be presenting its annual charity concert ‘Music Through the Decades’ and will once again be joined by the Tenbury Primary School Choir and Ludlow and Hereford Got2Sing choirs.
