BISHOPS Castle has started its Christmas celebrations.
The first Saturday of the month saw a day of Christmas related activities throughout the town.
In the town hall there was a festive flea market throughout the day.
But this was not the only place where people could buy gifts as there was a Christmas fair at the Stone House and a craft fair in the church.
With the nights continuing to draw in the highlight of the day for many people was the switch-on of the Christmas lights that took place in late afternoon.
Many of the towns in south Shropshire switch on their lights in the final weeks of November but Bishops Castle is one of the places where Christmas is a festival for December.
